Veterinary Office Assistant

Emily

From a very young age, Emily has always imagined herself working with animals. Her interest began at 5 years old when her parents adopted a kind and gentle-natured German shepherd mix. Since then, Emily’s interest in dogs and their behavior has grown and led her to obtain a job at our clinic and volunteer at a local dog training facility. Emily has spent a lot of time learning to work with fearful and reactive dogs who need a little bit of extra TLC when it comes to training. Her kind and positive approach shines through when watching her interact with our anxious patients. Outside of her role as a Veterinary Office Assistant Emily continues her education with a Fear Free Certified trainer who has a special interest in behavior. Emily also uses her continual learning and teaches other pet owners in both puppy and adult manners classes.   Emily’s home is ruled by two rambunctious kitties; Oscar and Delilah, and shared with her dog Luna, a rescue from Texas, and her other dog Finnegan, a former Taiwanese street dog. Outside of work, she can be found practicing yoga, hiking, sewing sweaters for her dogs as well as practicing scent detection with them, and tending to her ever-growing plant collection. We are proud to say that Emily is on her way to becoming Fear Free Certified.
