Registered Veterinary Technician

Jenna

Jenna’s innate ability to connect with animals naturally led her to a career in veterinary medicine. Her first official job landed her a position as a Kennel Assistant at a local emergency veterinary hospital; from there she obtained her Veterinary Assistant designation through West Coast College, and after a couple of years she was accepted to tech school. Jenna graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2008 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She started her tech career in a research setting, while still working part-time in companion animal medicine to maintain her skills. A couple of kids later, Jenna decided to retire from research (the commute was too much for a young family) and began dedicating her skills to mixed animal practice. Jenna currently locums at various animal hospitals in the lower mainland and we have been lucky enough to have secured her on an ongoing part-time schedule. We are proud to add another Free Certified Professional to our team, whose thorough observational nursing skills and calm demeanor complement our hospital operations. At home, Jenna helps her family to maintain a hobby farm where a menagerie of horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and an African Grey named Tango rule the roost. She and her ‘partner in crime’ together have four children who are the cherries that complete her bustling little farmstead sundae. Between her children’s school and mixed martial arts schedule, and the demands of maintaining a busy home, she considers work her “down time” wherein she also enjoys a career as a Child Birth Educator and   (sparingly) as a Labour and Birth Doula.
